Miko's Rescue Mission focuses on saving at-risk pitbull and bully type dogs from high-kill shelters in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. Currently, our intake is closed for the remainder of 2026.

We are a foster-based rescue, meaning we rely on people to foster a dog in order to save their life! Without fosters, we cannot save dogs from high-kill shelters. We provide food, supplies, vet care, and everything needed to care for your foster dog!

Miko’s Rescue Mission Inc. rescued our first dog Baya (fka Belle) from Harbor Shelter on March 30, 2024. We officially became a Non-Profit on May 28, 2024 and a 501(c)3 Organization on September 25, 2024.

We are based out of California! In 2024 we were based out of Simi Valley, CA, and in 2025 we relocated to Bakersfield, CA in the Central Valley of California!

Fosters can be located anywhere in California. Adopters can be located anywhere in the United States (with prior approval). Out of state adopters are required to come to California and then drive their dog back home. NO DOGS IN CARGO ON FLIGHTS IS PERMITTED.

In some cases, Adopters may be required to meet their potential dog in-person prior to beginning the "Foster-to-Adopt" process to ensure a good fit.

Every donation should automatically provide a receipt from whichever platform was used, after the transaction is processed. If you would like Tax-Deductible Receipt from us directly, just send us an email and we are happy to provide one! Donations of $250+ annually will receive a Tax-Deductible Receipt by January 31st of each year.

Our goal is to SAVE MORE PITBULLS! 

Unfortunately, we CANNOT TAKE YOUR DOG. We DO NOT accept dogs from people trying to rehome their dogs, but we are happy to offer assistance through education and various resources (sometimes financial) to help you KEEP your dog, just reach out and ask us for support!
